Earth Day Benefit: Earth, Wine and Fire

Provocative.           Earthy.           Illuminate your Awareness.

Earth, Wine and Fire is a charity event intended to benefit the environment. It will occur on Friday April 23, 2010, the day after Earth Day, from 5-11PM (a movie screening of No Impact Man starts at 5:00; the party kicks off at 7:00). We expect it to be a fun party hosted by a small group of community folks who banded together to create an enlightened evening with a purpose. We intend to educate, incite action and enjoy. Buy your tickets in advance for a discount. $25 now; $35 on the day of the event. Includes: Entry, 3 tickets that can be used for drinks or the raffle, appetizers, music, entertainment and full access to all Nature Museum exhibits! Additional beverages available for purchase. Children 12 and under are free.

Venue

The venue has been graciously donated by the beautiful Peggy Notebaert Museum in Lincoln Park at 2430 N. Cannon Dr. Get directions. Clark & Division red line stop and buses 36, 151, 76, others. Photos:

Beneficiaries

The Center for Neighborhood Technology, a non-profit dedicated to helping the environment through urban sustainability, and
The Peggy Notebaert Museum, also a very environmentally focused non-profit organization, will be the recipients of the funds.

The Event

Wine donated by Wide River Winery will be served. Music will begin with classical jazz and will progress with a salsa performance, a DJ and dancing later in the evening. A silent auction and raffle will be held to raise additional funds for the charities.
The fire part of the evening will be provided with beautiful hand-made candles from Tissai Candles.

This will be a family-friendly event, with Earth Day games and activities and museum exhibits open to children of all ages. Kids under 12 are free.

We still have plenty of room for green organizations and businesses to have tables and represent themselves and their offerings. Please contact us with your ideas and goals.
